Hello,

As this blog page is really just a portal for alumni to find us easily through the search engines, the OSUAAS does not update this Blog very often.

I would like to share that our organization has grown 900% in membership since this time last year. Yes, you read that correctly, 900%! Thus the need being fulfilled, would you please send a link to a friend that might be interested in joining the OSU Aviation Alumni Society.

If fact you could cut and paste this text and invite them yourself, and if you are not already a member, please apply. At this time we do not have any dues, just a large group of volunteers trying to connect us all together.

Thank you everyone for making this a great year and enabling so many great connections to be made among Buckeye Aviators, People in all parts of Aviation, and those of us who just love Aviation and the Buckeyes. All of these groups are very important to the others and the greater mass of people and alumni involved, the exponential value increases to all involved.

Help us find the older, non-computer-savy Alumni who are not on the net!

Hello All,

Are you an Alumni who isn't that comfortable yet about getting online to communicate? No worries! The OSUAAS is all about Aviation Alumni Connecting, not just about being on the computer. At this point we have done very well at gathering members who are wanting to communicate with each other via the Internet, but hey, if that is not your cup of tea, we understand.

If you are one of these people or know of somebody who is not going to get online and put their information there, but would very much want to be part of this important alumni group, we have a way for you to be involved.

Please send via the USPS your basic contact information to the OSUAAS at my address:

Name, mailing address, phone, cell number, email (if you have one and check it at least once a month). Date of graduation from OSU, list any of the organizations you were affiliated with while on campus, (i.e. Alpha Eta Rho, AAAE, Flight Team, etc.). Company (even if you are retired), position, occupation. Level of pilot certification if any, and if you like, a brief note about who you are and a little about yourself, so that we can share it with others looking for your experience or background. Please include any other information you would like to share. If you have several pictures, send them to us and maybe we can scan them and share them with everyone else in the group on the Internet, include any information about the picture, such as who the people are or what the event was and an approximate date, and location.

Even thought the Internet has brought over 160 of us together from literally all over the world, we don't want you to miss out because of a technology gap. That would be shameful in my opinion.

So please join us, we look forward to hearing from you.

The new OSUAAS Blog has begun

Welcome to the first post of the new Ohio State University Aviation Alumni Society (OSUAAS) Blog.

The main reason to start the Blog is to allow others to find their way to the Society. This is not intended to be the main communication portal for our group. But we will occasionally put tantalizing bits of information up in the Blog to entice you to join if you are a qualified applicant to the OSUAAS.

The OSUAAS's main mission is this:

Promoting Ohio State University Aviation

Alumni networking,
through the interaction of
the Alumni, Students and Faculty.

If you would like to join us, it is best to goto our web based communication tool at BigTent.com Located at:

Please, come and join our group of 135+ members online (162 as of 5/10/08) at the BigTent.com site. If you are not a member already and are interested in joining and are related to OSU Aviation, goto the link above and send a request to join us. Within a few days you will get a response back via email.

There is a tool in the right hand column of this webpage called "Find other OSU Pilots on FAA Database" to help you track down your pilot friends that you have not seen for decades possibly.

You won't get their email but you can get their mailing address to enable you to print out this page and send it via snail mail to encourage them to join the OSUAAS.

Any suggestions on how to reach the over 40 crowd, that isn't comfortable with online social networks, please let us know.

The only way to spread the word about the OSUAAS is to... get this... spread the word!

Just because someone is not computer savy is no reason to keep them from participating with the OSUAAS.
